Plum ( Ume ) season has come!

Heian Jingu Shrine has a beautiful Kaiyushiki Japanese Teien ( garden ) which is Kaiyushiki thanks to the Okazaki Sosui ( canal ) nearby.

The garden which was designed by Jihei Ogawa during Meiji era and his descendants carry the same name and protecting the garden. The nicest thing about this garden is that there’s always something to enjoy. This time in mid February, Kobai 紅梅and Hakubai 白梅。

Last entrance time is at 16:30 and they close at 17:00 but please allow yourself to spend at least one hour to enjoy its tranquil nature ambience at right in the middle of the city.
